What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a science which deals with the principles that
there are reflexes in the feet and hands which relate to every
organ, gland and other part of the body. It is the technique of
applying gentle pressure to reflex points on the feet and hands.
This brings about a state of deep relaxation and stimulates the
body’s own healing process, helping you to return to a state of
balance and well-being. Reflexology can benefit anyone.

				How does a session work?

Before starting a session you will be asked to remove your
shoes and socks. You will then soak your feet in a warm,
antibacterial foot bath. They will then be visually examined for
any obvious issues. The Reflexologist will then use a gentle,
yet firm, pressure on the feet to remove congestion. It usually
				takes about one hour.

What if I have horrible looking feet?
A Reflexologist is there to do
a job and isn’t judging your feet or indeed, you. Your feet have
their own shape and structure unique only to you and they are
nothing to be ashamed of. Rather, as much as your feet do for
you, they will appreciate any loving care.

				What about ticklish feet?

Very rarely is the case that your feet will be so ticklish
during a session that you won’t be able to receive Reflexology.
Usually, as you feel the firm pressure on your feet, you’ll find
				the session soothing and relaxing.

				What does congestion look like?

Congestion can show itself as redness, puffiness, calluses,
corns, bunions, feel like grains of sand, leaning toes, hammer
toes, arch differences, and even bone changes.

What does it mean if congestion is found?

If congestion is found over a reflex area, it doesn’t
necessarily mean there’s a physical issue. There is an emotional
attachment to every part of our body. The emotional attachment
will be discussed during a session. We look at the emotional
side first, the physical side second.

What should I expect after a session?

After a session, congestion has been loosened and will travel
through the body. It is very important to drink water to help
flush out any toxins. Toxins leave the body through urine. After
a session your urine may be darker in color, stronger in odor,
				or cloudy. DRINK WATER!

How often should I receive Reflexology?

It’s best to start out with one (1) Reflexology session a week
for four (4) weeks. It can take that long to get the congestion
out of the body. After the initial four (4) sessions,
maintenance sessions are usually scheduled from once a week to
once a month, depending on your personal needs. If you listen,
your body will tell you when you’re ready for the next session.

				Does Reflexology cure?

Reflexology never treats, diagnoses or prescribes for an
ailment. Nor does a Reflexologist claim to cure medical
conditions. Instead, Reflexology naturally supports the body,
mind, and emotions and allows them to heal on their own. It
relieves stress, increases nerve and blood flow, and normalizes
and balances the body. It can have some astonishing results.

How long has Reflexology been around?

Reflexology has its roots in ancient Egypt, India, and China.
For centuries scientists have explored the theory that the body
has energy zones running through it. In 1917, Dr. William
Fitzgerald rediscovered Reflexology and brought it to the U.S.
